down time

Apologies to my lovely readers- I currently have no interenet connection. And apparently wont have any until th 27th Decmeber *aarrrh!*. Some confusion between our new and old service providers has left us internet-less. My lovely neighbour has offered her services to check messages, but i wont post on the blog until I'm up and running again.
Have a lovely Christmas everyone!

Christmas Gift Wrap

Christmas brings out the best of everything!

I have found some absolutely lovely gift wrap ( or wrapping paper to some) recently and just had to share. I'm not a traditional green and gold type of gal, so these gift wraps are just that little bit different.

I just couldn't help myself. I had to add a few bird print gift wraps. I've always been a bird lover.

Gone are the days when you could only buy traditional gift wrap- being red, green or gold. There is such a choice of wrapping now to cater to anyone's theme. Be it traditional, modern, geometric, vintage or natural, you're such to find a gift wrap to suit you!

Last minute Christmas gift ideas!

Cookie In A Jar.

What a brilliant idea! An economical gift that not only looks great, is fun to do too. But why have I never heard of this phenomenon before?

After having a look around good 'ol Google, I have found many excellent versions of the 'cookie in a jar'.

Don't these look just divine!

The last is not Christmas related, but I thought looked great. A good idea for a 'girls night in' party or similiar.
I have a few last minute gifts to do, so making these would be perfect.  I'll post my attempt at giving it a go in the next day or so.
Stay tuned.....

Christmas Tag Printables

I'm in love with all the lovely Christmas tags that are hiding in so many lovely blogs.

I just had to share these two tag sets, as they are so different from your traditional red, green and gold type. Which is why i like them so much.

Discovered over at the creature comforts blog, they are a free download. Yippee!!

More DIY Gift Tags

As I am now in the stages of wrapping up all of my Christmas goodies, I'm on the hunt for unique gift tags.

I found these pretty feather gift tags over at 'love vs design'. They are just that little bit different- so i like them! What do you think?

DIY Gift Tags

I'm always on the lookout for new and wonderful ways to wrap and decorate that special gift.

I stumbled upon this idea from A pair of Pears for DIY clay monogramed tags and ornaments that is truely brilliant. It looks quite easy to do, and one that the children would enjoy helping out with.

To make these tags the exact same way, you'll need the 'letterpress cookie cutter set'. The letterpress cookie cutter set is readily available. If your here in Australia, I found this seller to be the cheapest for the set. Alternatively, you could make them using  kids play dough alphabet cutters or any other cookie cutters.

Happy gift tag making!!

Gift Wrapping Ideas with Kids

Kids just love being creative. Anything to do with craft, glue or paint and my kids are onto it in a flash!

It's easy to involve children in the gift wrapping process. Have fun, let them get messy and heavy handed with the decorating. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the masterpieces they can create.

Here are some fabulous ideas for children to decorate their own wrapping paper.

Using sticky office to decorate.

Freehand drawing onto kraft paper.

Hand printing.

Potato printing.

Sticking pompoms onto kraft paper.

Using cookie cutters to stamp prints.

Painting white paper with water colours.

Tutorial: How to cut a paper snowflake

Still on the theme of using kraft paper for wrapping up gifts this festive season, I came across this tutorial from How About Orange on how to cut your own paper snowflake.

The tutorial has a download on 'how to fold directions'.

What a great package wrap idea, and one that the kids can have fun with too.

Kraft Christmas Wrap

There is just something about kraft paper that I love. Maybe it's the earthiness of it, or its versatility, i dont quite know.

Some lovely kraft paper wrap ideas for the upcoming  festive season.

A little bit of hand made shows a whole lot of love!
